Housing Solutions Summit — September 29 & 30, 2006 at the Ernest Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Housing Solutions Summit spearheaded by The City of New Orleans, Entergy, and The Homebuilders Association of Greater New Orleans, will feature national and local experts who will provide detailed guidance and information regarding the regional rebuilding process. This event will be an invaluable resource to homeowners, landlords, contractors, and investors.

The Summit will be "kicked off" by Governor Kathleen Blanco, Mayor Ray Nagin, Mr. Daniel Packer, President of Entergy New Orleans, Honorable Oliver Thomas, President of the New Orleans City Council and Lieutenant General Russel Honoré.

Other participants will include:

• From the Louisiana Recovery Authority - Road Home Program, Chief Program Executive Mike Byrne, Walter Leger (Chairman of Housing) and Donna Fraiche (Chairperson of Long Term Community Planning).
• Representatives from the IRS, HUD, and the Louisiana Department of Economic Development will describe tax credits for both consumers and developers.
• Bank officers, title companies, and real estate commission representatives will discuss financial opportunities relevant to the rebuilding effort.
• Directors of City of New Orleans agencies such as Planning, Zoning, Historic Preservation as well their counterparts from St. Tammany, Jefferson, St. Bernard and Plaquemines parishes will provide details and handouts regarding the permit approval process.
• Experts will educate attendees on mold, lead paint, and termite abatement, energy efficiency and environmentally sensitivities.
• Building Alternatives such as modular housing and panel systems will be detailed.

The event is free and open to the public. Interested property owners, developers, and investors are encouraged to attend this event to learn more about the rebuilding of homes and businesses in the New Orleans metroplex.
